Hi Kerry - what a great ( and brave ) offer.
I am interested in the following

John R. Maddison  b.1832  marr. to Mary Thacker B.1841
   Thomas Harding  b.1842

Anything at all would be great.............bigjon
Bennett, Tennant, Richards, Price.....Staffordshire
Reid, Brown, Harrison, Saunders, Coetzer........South Africa and Scotland.

Interested to hear what you've got on the Race & Bowerbanks Kerry.

Cheers

Jay

For the others watching Kerry's post is from Oct 2007 but she's been online this morning so I assume still an active member.

Hello,
In this photo is my Grandfather William Marshall, my father Albert William Marshall, two uncles William (Billy) & Frank Marshall & another uncle on my Grandmothers side Manson.......they all worked in the Durham mines but I don't know which one.....I don't know the other people in the photo.

These are addresses I have for this family:
1881- 86 Garden Lane, St Hilda’s South Shields, England
1891- 21 Mill St, Westoe, South Shields,England
1901- 3 Elston Street, Felling, South Shields, England
1911- 7 Coromation Terrace, Springwell, Near Gateshead, South Shields, England.

My dad is the one in the middle standing with a bonnet on and someone has their hand on his shoulder...he would probably be around 20 ?...he was born 1895.

Can anyone tell me which mine they would have worked in?

Isabel :)

If you go to http://www.dmm-gallery.org.uk/maps/1928-00.htm you can see what collieries were near South Shields and Gateshead.
