Help reading latin?

There is a remark on a marriage in Haslingden, Lancashire in 1678 which is:

matrim'm fuit solem quoque inter eos apud Whitworth.

Whitworth is a place near Haslingden though it's also a common local surname as well.

Does anybody read Latin and might be able to help?

This isn't the original, it's somebody else's transcription so there may be spelling errors. When I google translate I get "at the marriage the sun, too, was between them at Whitworth"

I'd guess that "solem" was short for "solemnized" in Latin .. so the marriage was also solemnized between them at Whitworth.

(maybe someone will agree/dissent to this!)

I think you are pretty much on the money, Eadaoin.
I have seen similar entries in PR's, mostly for marriages, where it is noted in the register but took place elsewhere, usually because one or both of the parties was from that parish.

quoque = also, implying there was a ceremony in both places.
