Help needed in finding a soldier in WW2

I have been looking for any evidence that William Henry Charles POW served during WW2.

His mother was Alice Blanche POW

He was born 10 Apr 1921 in Lambeth, 2q 1921 Lambeth 1d 623, and married in Warminster in 1947.

He died 4q 1993 in Hilperton Wiltshire.
