Hi David, in your original post you gave Timothy father as timothy but in the marriage record for Timothy & eliz Mulvihill it gives his father as Thomas.

Sometimes there can be errors in the church records as I couldnt find my grandparents marriage and when I contacted the Church where I thought they would have married - found the record but my grandfathers name was different to his known name.

Hi ballydw,

Timothy Mackessy was my great grandfather, born in 1895. His parents were Timothy (Macessy) & Eliza (Bessie) Mulvihill, who appear in the 1901 census. Timothy(Macessy)'s father was Thomas, so I think the records look to be correct.
