This is a 1901 census entry concerning Edward Jones and his wife Grace

Edward Jones was born in Birmingham to George and Maria Jones in 1853

According to the census, his wife was born in India, along with their children George and Edith

The 1911 census, which I cannot put on here for copyright reasons states she was born in Pondicherry and that Edward, being on an army pension in 1911 may have been on an officer in the army and may have met her in India

I was wondering if someone could help find a marriage and perhaps some records detailing Edward's service in the British Army

I think you will find that you can give information from the 1911 on your own post you just can't ask others to look it up for you.

Yes that is indeed the marriage, the location is correct, as is the name of Edward's father

Possible baptism for Grace :

Grace Clara 25 Dec 1865 ( no birthdate given )at Cuddalore , daughter of Frederick Edward and Ellen Thomas of Valdahowe , Cuddalore ( Frederick police inspector )

Grace's father Frederick died in 1869 aged 38 years old

Quite young

Are there any military records concerning Edward Jones? He must have gone to India for reasons of war, though Grace was born there
