India - Church Records
« on: Monday 10 March 14 13:52 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to look up births, marriages & deaths for Cawnpore Bengal
I have found a few on FindMyPast and familysearch.
Is there anywhere else I can search?

Thanks  ::)

Have you tried FIBIS? Families in British India Society (http://www.fibis.org/).

Click on FIBIS Database, and search from there.

Hi snowy

The records online at FindMyPast are taken from the collection at the British Library.

The India Office at the British Library reckon they are only about 65-70% complete.

If you have check FindMyPast and the originals at the British Lbrary then there is every chance the records you are looking for do not survive, or are still in India.

The LDS also has a large collection on microfilm that has not been transcribed and put on FamilySearch.

There's a link here

click on Bengal for further details.
