Hi Helen, maybe you could get in touch with Clydebank Library, askt them to send you a photograph.  It will give you an Idea about the type of tenements your GGrandparents  lived in.
Dont know how much it would cost, its nice to have an old photo it makes it all real in your mind.

Hi my name is John Hills and my great great grandparents lived at no 20 the same place as Helen's.It is indeed a small place.Mine lived there in the 1901 census :),seems Helen and I must be related.I live in Sydney Australia.

Hi John, welcome to the forum.  I also live in N.S.W. (came to Oz when I was a little girl) But I'm afraid that's as far as the connection goes  :(
20 Baronial Terrace, as far as I am aware, was a tenement building, so our rellies were neighbours, but that's about it.  I don't have any Hills in my files, throw another name into the ring and we might find something.   ;)

Hi Helen mine were David Hamilton and Family at least they lived at the same address,2 weeks ago I couldn't find them,just knew they came from Scotland.

John, I found David's marriage on Scotlandspeople, but I'm sorry, not enought credits left to view the image.
David Hamilton married Jane H. Campbell, 1882, Eastwood, Lanark.
If you view the marriage it will give you their parents names (and mothers maiden names).

I see you have DEWAR !..I have DEWAR from Clydebank who went there from East Kilbride and Carnwath Lanarkshire before that...They lived in the white house at the corner of Barnes Street and Whitecrook Street.They worked for the Borough.
