Tye in Brimington
« on: Tuesday 11 February 14 17:45 GMT (UK) »
From census records I've picked up:

Father - Thomas Tye
Mother - Eliza Jane (nee Folger)
and 12 children

1875 - Florence Mary
1877 - Eliza Jane
1879 - Henrietta
1880 - Maud May
1882 - John William
1885 - Sophia
1887 - George Edwin
1891 - Beatrice J
1893 - Leonard T
1895 - Stanley
1897 - Eleanor Grace
1900 - Clarence P

I've looked on FS and they only seem to have baptisms for three of the 12 (Florence, Eliza and Stanley).

Tye is sometimes Tie and sometimes /Tigh.

Can anyone fill in the baptism details for any of the others, please?

Thanks
STG

My transcript of the Brimington BMD's has no baptisms recorded for the other children.
The FreeBMD Birth Index indicates that their births were registered in Chesterfield as follows –
Florence Mary Tye – Q4 1875
Eliza Jane Tye – Q3 1877
Henrietta Tye – Q2 1879
Maud May Tye – Q1 1881
John William Tye – Q3 1882
Sophia Tye – Q2 1885
George Edward Tye – Q3 1887
Clifford Tye – Q3 1889
Beatrice Jennard Tye – Q3 1891
Thomas Tye – Q2 1892
Leonard Thomas Tye – Q3 1893
Stanley Tye – Q2 1895
Eleanor Grace Tye – Q1 1897

Thanks for looking.  I think I was hoping that they'd been majorly mis-transcribed, but I've tried them all without surnames (via FS) without any luck.

I have Maud's birth certificate, so I know her DOB, and the three who were baptised also have their DOBs in the register and I was hoping to be able to pick up the rest from the same source.

Still puzzling why parents would baptise child numbers 1, 2 and 10, but not 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12.

Thanks again
