John McNab (McNabb) & Euffen McIntoss
« on: Wednesday 01 January 14 16:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year.

I'm trying to find either of the above's births.

They married on 21 January 1781 in Campbeltown, Argyllshire and went on to have at least five children, but I'm struggling to find out their years of births, where they were born and parents.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

KR

Hi Lindsey

Just a comment of spelling variations...

Would think that Euffen McIntoss might well show as variations of Effie McIntosh. Re Effie, other variations might include www.whatsinaname.net/female-names/Euphemia.html

Saw this entry as a possible child https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XYGQ-V6J

H Monica, thanks for looking.

familysearch usually come up with a few "wildcards".  I've found the marriage and I've now found six children from 1787 to 1800 but I've just been struggling with the births of them both.

Maybe it's a Gaelic thing?

I'll try variants of the spellings again.

Hi Bev, thanks for looking.

I hadn't found Robert so hadn't seen his mother's name spelt as Toss rather than McIntoss.

I'll take a closer look tomorrow.
