Travelling to Ontario July 2014
« on: Sunday 08 September 13 02:11 BST (UK) »
Hello fellow chatters,

So I am planning a trip to southwestern Ontario next year, and was hoping to be able to do a small get together with those that I have had met on here.  For a date, I was thinking of somewhere between July 11th - July 29th, depending on the people I'm visiting's schedule, flights, etc.

The only other issue is where, I will be near London, Brantford, Hamiliton (I think) and I know nothing of Ontario highways/roads, etc. not travelling any further east of Winnipeg ever, and have never followed a GPS in my life.  So long as it is somewhere I can find easily or guided to is another factor.

If anyone has any ideas or would like to participate let me know, unless I have to rethink my strategy.

Jeff

Highway 401 Toronto - Windsor goes right down the center of SW Ontario. Lots of signage. You should not get lost along it.

Jeff..is your trip still on? Researching  anyone special? I'm an hour from London and can give basic road directions. Hamilton is home territory and much family in the area. A group of us met in Toronto a few years ago for lunch..it was great!

Thanks kiddo,

As of this point it is up in the air or delayed.  The family I was to visit's Mom is in poor health and is not doing well. I may, out of respect and that reason, delay my trip until next year or the fall.   I will decide in the next few weeks what I'm doing.

Not researching anyone in particular, my wife's ancestor's are from the Halimand, Walpole area which isn't too far, and I have a great grandmother buried in Timmins (which is a bit far away for what I was thinking).

I Will let everyone know in a few weeks,

Jeff

Is that Haldimand near Hamilton? and Walpole Island? Walpole Island is just south of me.
I looked at by our post and saw you have "Miles" in Berkshire..so do I! Mary,  Nathaniel & co. Married to Turners  to (alias Ferriers) ended up out west Canada.. MyTurners ended up in Hamilton area..anything familiar?
Always hunting..keep us posted. If you are driving east JDC would be in your path up top.
