have a james yates and anna strachan as my grtgrtgrt granparents am looking for further infomation on them ,if they had any sibiling  where they lived and who where anna s parents james was born 1775 aberlour not sure where anna was born ,have been looking through extracts of sp and found a william yates married to a helen yates 19/09/1795 have a margeret yates married to a george stuart 1792 and a peter yates married to a isabel maver 1780 are these connected to my james any help would be gratefully received from roots chatters .have a thread on the fife board if any other information is need on james children .james yates 1810 elizabeth simpson 1821. thanks david,

There is a death on SP - in Torryburn 16 Feb 1890 for James Yates, 84, pauper formerly weaver. Parents James Yates and Annie Strachan. Informant Inspector of Poor.
This seems to tie in with James Yates in 1871 (66y/o) and 1881 (75y/o) censuses where he is living with unmarried sister Mary in Torryburn. In 1871 he is a Boatman, birthplace Culross, and in 1881 a General Labourer, birthplace Torryburn. A 78y/o Mary died 1888 Torryburn

hi have been searching for my grtgrtgrtgrt granfather and my grtgrtgrtgrt granmother siblings have  my 4 times granfather as James Yates born 1775 son of Charles Yates and Janet mill cant find my 4 times granmother Anna strachan .looking on family search found a Elizabeth Yates could this be James sister 14 Feb 1779 aberlour father Charles Yates mother Janet Milne .also found a marriage for Charles yate and Janet Milne 1772 are these the same people help would be gratefull received regards David.

after looking tierlessly for James and Anna still no hits on Annie /Nannie strachan from fifeshire or aberlour and need some help to put me in the right direction for her any thing on her would be very grateful have both of them as James Yates mother but seem to have trouble getting her any help please David
