I realize now that I had seen that notice before but the bottom was cut off and I didn't realize that son John had written it. All I know about his age is that he was born before 1810 before his great uncle wrote his will. Since Susannah was born 1808, perhaps he was born 1806 or 1804, making him 18 at the most in 1822.
In 1829, Samuel Carson Boyd was accused of being a horse thief, and although found not guilty, I had wondered if that prompted him to leave England.
SCB's mother Jenny nee Carson was from the parish of Rashee, and his wife Mary Lawson was possibly from Kilbride. Jenny's sister Isabella married Thomas George of Ballyhill, parish Killead and at one time lived at the Steps Farm, Ballyhill. The father of Jenny, Samuel, and Isabella Carson was also called Samuel but I don't have a mother's name.
