I researching my 3x grt Grandfather James Nolan/Nowlan who was a Miller in the Dublin/Kildare area.  Does anyone know if there are any records of Millers from the 1850's.  I searched Griffiths valuation and found a James Nolan who owned a Corn Mill in Timolin Kildare.  Does anyone know anything about this area or its history?

Hi Gemma
Seen your posts on this part of the Stagg family that I am also researching (my wife is a Stagg).
Have you got any further on James?
I also have been struggling to find the marriage of Mary Nolan to James Baker in Manchester.
Some of the researches seem to think it is a family myth.
Mary Nolan is at LJL5-TDS on familysearch. There is a lot more in communications but very little has any clear documentation.
Hope we can pull things together.

Hi Chris
I have the marriage certificate of James baker to Mary Nowlan 24 May 1853 in Chorlton.  What part of the Stagg family does your wife  come from.  Mary Nowlan was my great great great grandmother.

Hi Gemma
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I had missed that location so hadn't found the link. I still cannot be sure that  I understand how the link to this marriage is made.
I know that the name Baker appears on the Nolan / Stagg marriage certificate and also the father's name James but is there anything else to tie Mary to this marriage - there are a lot of Nowlans in Chorlton. Unfortunately common names abound.
My wife is a 2x gt granddaughter of Mary, of William John b1863 William John b1885 line.

Hi Chris
Mary and James had a son James John baker in 1857 who can be seen with Mary in the 1861 census and then as an older 'Stagg' child when Mary is Married to John Stagg in in 1871.  I wondered if you wanted to e mail me instead it may be easier to be in contact.
I would like to find out more about where Mary and James met whether it was over here or Ireland and where Mary came from in Ireland but I have never got anywhere with it.
