thankyou so much i have been searching for 2 years and as i know very little about the family ,as my grandad was raised by another family as his mum dies when he was 7
he never spoke about his real family .
my grandads father was a william james brown(e),born in ireland in 1888, he married bridget mcdonald in 1911 in belfast
i have the documents for them but the trail ends there
i know they lived in jordanstown upto 1928 when bridget died at the age of 36 or 38
his father william james brown remarried but dont know who he married and i cant find no information about bridget at all not even a death record
if you could help with any of this it would bring an end to me wondering which way to go
thankyou so much for information you have given me already

hi thanks for the the attatchment of the marraige of william and matilda
i have the same dates as yourself but on the marraige certificate it states that matildas father was a james knipe, i have the same record and matildas father was william knipe who married a margaret reid
there are a few other people on the forum who have the same info where matildas father is william on some documents and james on other documents
i am a bit unsure which one is which

Hi

I am not sure were i got this from but i have him in my records as James who married a Mary McKeown without proper documents or remembering were i got this information from i can not be totally sure myself will try and look back. i remember looking at the Reid connection at the start of my research but then ruled it out for some reason. if you find any thing else out could you let me know in my records i have James father as Thomas Knipe.

hi

looked at the records on family search and that Matilda Knipe who's  mother would have been a Reid would have only been 14 years old at time of marriage the marriage certificate states full age.

Hi
I found a record stating a matilda knipe born 1868 died at a young age and her elder sister mary born 1859 decided to change her name to matilda, thats why there is no record of a matilda knipe born 1859 only the proper matilda born 1868
Its so difficult as back then people changed names and there ages so easy!!!
