Just noticed that this was an old post (smile).

Thought that I'd drop the info here that I've been sifting through, just in case someone looks here in the future.

The Merchant Navy Seamen, Series BT113 (1845-1854) has tickets for two Alexander Storms from Findhorn: one born in 1827-8, one in 1832. There are more Alexander Storms in the MNS during that period, but these are the only two listed as being from Morayshire.

Hello jenc,
While checking to see if Death Certificates were issued for fishermen lost at sea, on a totally different thread to yours, I found this site.

      http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~stormrhb/lost.htm

Or try googling STORM and COMPANY of ROBIN HOOD'S BAY - Ancestry.com
This brings up a list of websites. Click on the first one (same as above) On that page, underneath the lovely photograph of Robin Hood's Bay, is an index including Missing Seamen Register. Reading through that really brings home how devastated these small communities would be when a ship went down, often with several members of the same family on board.
Probably no connection to your Alexander Storm but thought it might be of interest to you.

               Regards,     Dod.
