Hi all, wondering if anyone has parents and family for Catherine Cottee from Great Totham who married Charles Gentry in 1816 and can verify that Charles Gentry, born ~1822 was their son and if there were any other children, thanks in advance, Lance

Hi Lance,

Catherine COTTEE was a daughter of Joseph COTTEE and his wife Ann,
she was born in February but  her baptism at Great Totham was on 1 December 1799.

Joseph COTTEE marriage Ann LEE at Great Totham on 4 Sept. 1787.
Joseph & Ann had 12 children baptized at Great Totham between then and 1812.

There is Joseph buried at Great Totham on 17 Jan 1838 PR does not say if widowed.
I have not yet located a burial for Ann.

The marriage or death of all but one of their children have been noted.

Regards
JonJon

Hi Lance,

Adding to my last message :

Joseph COTTEE s/o John ( a butcher ) & Mary baptized Great Totham 13 May 1764 born 19 April 1764.

Ann LEE d/o John & Ann was baptized at Great Totham on 30 July 1869.
Ann COTTEE, age 83, was buried at Great Totham on 23 May 1853.
She seems to have lived longer than most of her children.

Still to find in the 1841/1851 census. No obvious matches so perhaps in workhouse.

Can anyone point to the correct ED. ??

Cheers
JonJon

This is probably Ann - age slightly out, even allowing for the rounding down in 1841. In Great Totham, born in county

Charles and Catharine's other children:
Charles 11/8/1822, living in beckenham from this point seemingly, and Ann 6/8/1826, so obviously the twins died. Lots of twins seem to only live for a week or two back then. Sad.
Henry 12/7/1829, Robert 16/9/1832, George 29/6/1834. Didn't find any more. Looked as far as 1841. Lots of children to George gentry and wife, and Joseph gentry and wife. Also Hannah gentry has two base-born sons, and Sarah gentry has one.
Charles' occupation: bricklayer.
Jamiesons, Martins and McGonigals of Coleraine, Londonderry
and
Cullens, Grahams and Challenors of Dublin county and city.
