Ok thanks...Mary Beattie Dickson was my mum's cousin so will change Barclay and Glady's info on my tree to Stonehaven and not Gourdon.  Hope you find what you are looking for.

Barclay was the youngest crew member of the Johnshaven Lifeboat Disaster in 1920.  He died at Gourdon in 1976.

I have found an article in the Times where the lifeboat crew were presented with silver cups by King of Denmark for rescuing ther crew of the schooner "Fredensborg" of Korsor on 21 Dec 1920. All of the crew were mentioned in the article, and the widow of James McBay was given a monetary award instead.

Just to add that Mary Beattie Dickson's father James Dickson was also a member of the lifeboat crew involved and that the silver cup presented to him is still held with pride within the family....brave boys

 I have read many articles about the disaster and can confirm that Barclay's cup is also still held with pride within the family.
