Useful links for Victoria County and Old Ontario County (Now Durham Region).   I don’t think these are mentioned elsewhere in this thread:

1837 Rebels and Sympathizers:
The Life and Times of Wm Lyon Mackenzie with an Account of the Canadian Rebellion of 1837, and the subsequent frontier disturbances, chiefly from unpublished documents… by Charles Lindsey (Toronto: P.R. Randall, 1862), Appendix. --  http://books.google.ca/books?id=OO1YAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA320&lpg=PA320&dq=%22life+and+times+of+wm+lyon+mackenzie%22+grieve&source=bl&ots=txx-p-a5H4&sig=uMLkIKK7ELbDPS2qYcQO7B6_YjM&hl=en&ei=GzR8TdKUEIyOrQGSzpDeBQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBkQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false
The Appendix for this book, which goes on for many pages, lists the men who were arrested in the Rebellions of 1837.  In most cases, it also says what became of their cases, although I find it hard to understand some of that.
This is also available online at other websites in other formats.

Ontario Canada - Waterloo Region

Waterloo County Ontario

I've just found a wonderful website that came on line in February 2011 called Waterloo Region Generations.  It is being updated frequently with sources from the Waterloo Genealogical Society and has many contributors.  The website contains family trees for the area based on the resources such as cemetary transcriptions, census records etc.  Photos have also been uploaded.

Names of interest are recorded in the Surname Interests Table.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello J. J.
Janet's Ontario Obits website has been missing for some time.  All that is at this link (above) is a parked page and you may wish to remove the link to the old URL.
I have attempted to locate Janet and her material but have had no luck.
Regards,
Susan
I found this very interesting book, published in Ontario in 1875:  Proceedings of the Grand Lodge of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Canada  There are a lot of names throughout and on pp180-182 there is a long list of deceased members along with the date of death.  If you think your Ontario ancestor could have been a Freemason it might be worth checking.  https://archive.org/details/grandlodge1875onta
