Hi Gali and celtic1 (come back soon  ;))

These notes here www.familytreecircles.com/who-gave-flemington-melbourne-vic-aust-its-name-57931.html mention:

1841.
At Port Phillip, on 31st December, at the residence of John Hawdon, Esq , Keillor, to Elizabeth, second daughter of the late James Ross, Esq, of Flemington, Morayshire, Scotland.Family Notices
(The Sydney Monitor and Commercial Advertiser (NSW : 1838 - 1841) Friday 19 February 1841 Edition: MORNING p 3)

So we have Elizabeth's birth order hopefully confirmed from that. Margaret, from a previous post/detail added here, showed as first born.

James Rose shows as living at Feughside Aberdeenshire by at least 1798-99 (Horse Tax Rolls www.rootschat.com/links/017j7/). Fits well with Margaret showing as born in the Aberdeenshire area in 1805. From the National Records of Archives of Scotland site - www.rootschat.com/links/017j4/

...Think we have made big headway on the Rose side, up to Elizabeth wife of James Watson who married in Melbourne at the end of 1840. Likely Jean Rose, wife of George Watson and Hugh Watson's grandparents, had big connections to these Rose family lines being discussed (http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/ANGUS/2003-04/1050542775).

Where we are still struggling is with James Watson, and the purpose of this post by you celtic1  :-\ We need more info from your sources to be able to move further now. From either Gali or my comments, what would help further now:

Details from James Watson's death cert in 1869. You mentioned that Anne Hawker got parents' names wrong on the registration. What details were on the cert.? The only death reg I can see in Victoria 1869 for a James Watson, b. 1811, just gives father as Hugh, no mother's name.

Details on children from the marriage to Elizabeth Rose and Anne Hawker. There may be some clues if James used Scottish naming pattern. Elizabeth would have been circa 34 years when she married? I can only see one child from second marriage, William, who died: Death - On the 30th ult., at Cardigan-street, North Melbourne, William James, only son of James Watson, Esq., late of Flemington, aged two years and nine months  Thursday 1 December 1853 (TROVE).

Do you know when James named the estates Flemington and Keillor? Can't get a handle on dates here. With him marrying Elizabeth Rose the last day of 1840, wondered whether he was already using Flemington and Keillor before this date?

Did James Watson leave a will following his death in May 1869? DEATHS. ON THE 10th inst, at his Residence, 76, Fitzroy Street, Fitzroy, MELBOURNE, Mr. James Watson, formerly of the Firm of   Messrs. Hunter & Watson, aged 57 years, leaving a sorrowing Widow & Family to mourn their loss. Monday 31 May 1869. (TROVE)

You may also have more material your end that hasn't been discussed here that may help too.
