Neve in Stone In Oxney

I did research some basic information on my father's family a few years ago but would be interested to know if anyone has connections on their family trees/research to the Neve family who were based in Stone in Oxney for much of the 19th century.
And other Neves elsewhere who might think they have a link to the Stone/Tenterden/Rye area - I once went for a teaching interview in Cambridge in the 1980s and there was another Mr Neve being interviewed who was the splitting image of my grandfather when he was a young man - it was a weird experience!

have you had a look at the freeReg site - lots of Neves in Stone on there.

If you put Neve in the search engine it should bring up any other posts regarding Neve

Have you checked the Surnames Interest Table?
Looks to be at least 1 other researcher for Neve in Rye?!

Look at the bottom of the page (any RC page), and under "Your Tools" you will find "Surname Interests".
Click on that, and then Quick Search; Select N, and look for Neve.

Hi Maggie. Just seen your comment. Here's a few basic 'facts' - if you think there is a connection maybe we can swap information by messages on this board or email. My grandfather was James Neve, born in Stone around 1891. He had 12 brothers and sisters, his father James Edward Neve was a farm bailiff, married to Elizabeth Adams. His father was a James Neve as was his father - all born and lived in Stone. Any help?

Hello James.  My Great-grandfather was a James Neve and I think his father was John Neve.   I've not worked on this line for a while so will check my notes later in order to be a bit more informative! I will be out all day but will be in contact again soon.  M
