Ann of Castle Cary

Help needed
Ann Gulliford b1848 Castle Cary Reg Wincanton married Jonathan Cross reg Wincanton in 1865. I do not know where Jonathan was born or how old he was. I cannot find out anything about them after they were married. Many thanks any help appreciated

Have you found them on any census after their marriage?

Who were Ann's parents (see if I can find her on the 1861 census before marriage)

Yes they do kind of disappear don't they.

There's a death in Wincanton for a Jonathan Cross in 1874 but his birth given as 1804 so maybe not yours

There's an Ann Cross born Somerset in London in 1891 with a pile of daughters, married but no husband listed 

Same situation in 1901, married with daughters but no husband.  Birthplace looks like Taunton so maybe not your lady *

* Sorry not her, husband is there in 1881 called Rowland not Jonathan

Are you sure that the Ann Gulliford who married in 1865 was only born 1848.   

The 1861 has a Jonathan Cross age 50 living in Cucklington with a wife called Mary age 60.

The 1871 has a Jonathan Cross age  66 with a wife Ann 65 born Charlton Horethorne, Somerset, England

Could they be the same Jonathan with a second wife    There is an Ann Gulliford born Charlton Horethorne, Somerset in 1861 with a husband John age 73,  I can't see them in 1871

The 1865 marriage is on freereg, they are both widowed

Anns parents were Josiah Guliford b c 1817 Sparkford and mary Willis b c 1817 they were married in 1845 reg Wincanton. Ann is on the 1861 cencus with them but not on the 1871 cencus

Ah you're right Rosie, Ann is a widow when she marries Mr Cross so she can't be the Ann you are looking for Heather as her birth name wouldn't be Gulliford.

The Ann you are looking for was 10 in 1851 bn North Cadbury  and 20 in 1861 born Castle Cary so born c 1841.
