Beardsley

Hiya I wonder if someone can help me and look up the name of Samuel Beardsley born in Nottinghamshire on the 5th March 1929 and died on the 3rd November 2001, I do know he was in a boys home as a youngster with a brother , I cant find out anything of sam or the brother thank you so much.

It looks like this might be his birth registration, from FreeBMD:
Births Sep qtr 1929, Samuel BEARDSLEY, mms Beardsley, Nottingham, 7b/528

I would have expected a March birth to be in the March or June quarter, so perhaps it was registered late? Since his mother's maiden name was Beardsley, he was likely illegitimate. I think the only way to progress with this is to get his birth certificate, to identify his mother.

This might not be the correct birth record since it is in the wrong quarter. I wonder if his birth name was not Beardsley?
