Could I beg a few look ups at the record office (Pretty Please)
« on: Thursday 22 August 13 11:22 BST (UK) »
Hi Gang

Ive hit a snag, as I loaded the HEF marriage CD at WOR record office only to find that its not compatible with the new computer system at their new premises.  So I wonder if some kind person planing a visit to the HEF record ofice would take pity on me (Pretty Please).

I would love to know the full details of a few marriages that would help a lot with my tree

William Brookes = Eliza ______ there are 2 possibilities on free BMD but neither are perfect matches - Ellen Crump & Elizabeth Williams both JUN 1/4 1861 Ledbury dist
Also
Nathaniel Nash = Mary Ann Davies JUN 1/4 1852 Tenbury dist
Also
William Brooks = Eliza Davis JUN 1/4 1861 Leominster dist
(I think this is the most likely couple for the parents of who I am trying to research but would like to know the details of the other 2 so that I can eliminate them
Also
The details of the Burial of Nathaniel Nash (GRO death reg JUN 1/4 1879 Leominster dist aged 81y/o)
Also
I'm pushing my luck now
Any details for a Bap & Bur in HEF for Eliza Nash C1838 Kimbolton

Thanking you all in advance for taking the trouble to read this posting

From your first request it would look like William Brookes married Ellen Crump 1861 Ledbury.   1871 eldest child is Amelia Brookes and in 1861 she is Amelia Crump.

Census and parish records show no Eliza Nash bc.1838 Kimbolton (only an Elizabeth in 1835) but there is an Eliza Davis bp.25/11/1838 Kimbolton, dau. of Mary.

Hi Both

Thanks for your replies to my posting

1st of all Ellen Crump is part of a false trail as she married a William Brookes who was a bird catcher while the one Im researching was a blacksmith. The Ellen Davis born Kimbolton is the correct person & Ive already got her in my records thatns to the head researcher for WsMFHS whwo sent me 19 pages of research she has done on my behalf, but I still have a few loose ends to tie up - hence my request for lok ups at the record office.

As for the Forrest of Dean site - Im puzzled by this as Im not & never have been researching in the Forrest of Dean but thanks anyway for the kind thought
