Husband missing from all census returns

Hi,

I have the following family on census from 1841, 1851, 1861, 1881

Mary Calvert 1814 bDenholme, Yorkshire
Children all born Denholme -
George Calvert 1835
Warton 1836
William 1847
Sarah Ann 1850
Susannah 1853


1841 and 1851 she lives with her father John and her children.

She marries James calvert in 1833 By 1881 she is a widow.

My question is where is her husband James on all the cenusus returns?

Also i can't find this family on the 1871.

help please!
