Knights in Totnes
« on: Wednesday 26 March 14 11:25 GMT (UK) »
Please could someone help me?
I'm trying to find some information about a Knight family from Totnes.
All I know is that Nicholas Knight (born either 1780 or 1790) possibly had a daughter Ann (born c 1813) in Totnes
Ancestry isn't helping, so it may well be a non-conformist family.
If anyone has any ideas/information, however small I'd be very grateful

Thank you for replying Carole.
The only problem is, that for some unknown reason my computer won't let me 'open' Family Search. Is there any chance you could 'cut & paste' the entry for me?
I'd be really grateful

Wow!
You are wonderful!
Now all I need to do is find her marriage to a William Williams after 1832 and probably before 1836, possibly in London
Thank you SO much!

The only Ann Knight marriage to a William Williams was in 1811 in London so not them

Where did you get the info from that her father was called Nicholas

Frederick Williams's (William & Ann Williams son) daughter Winifred married a Charles Rumsby and they emigrated to Canada in 1908, just after the birth of their second child. The family have some old photos
One of them (1843 or 1853)  shows a Nicholas Knight aged 63.  Whichever year it is, it would be perfectly possible for him to have been Ann's father.
Thank you for helping me so much.
