William Roope Brooking (b.1856, Brixham, Devon)

Can anyone find William on the 1871, 1891 and 1901 census?

He was born in Brixham son of John and Diana (both deceased before 1871) and according to the 1881 census he was a commercial clerk living with his step mother Christina and siblings in Paddington, London.

Jump to 1911 and he is boarding in Paddington and is a partner in C K Roope & Co (Merchant Bankers), trouble is he goes missing between 1881 and 1911 and I can't find his death anywhere.

He was single on the 1911 so there may not be a wife unless he marries post that census

Can't find him on the census.
But he dies in 1928 and leaves a Will for 1929.
William Roope Booking of Balfour House Finsbury Pavement Middlesex died 28.6.1928 at Dawson Place Hotel Pembridge Square Middlesex .Probate 12.3.1929 to Charles Edmund Roope Booking banker £850 9s 1d
The 1926 Electoral register gives the same address in Islington and Charles Edmund and Fanny at 43 Bedford Gardens.

ps there is a passenger list for a William R Booking age 45 returning from California to Liverpool Nov 1903 on the Oravia which may be him

Occupation :- merchant. No age given
