The parents of Thomas Howard Barrington Palmer were Ricardo Palmer and Mary Verena Barrington who were married by licence at St. Iberius, Wexford on 5 Oct 1871. Her father given as William Barrington, Diocesan Schoolmaster. His father as Thomas Palmer, Bank Manager. The witnesses were J Palmer and J Jefferies.
Maybe J Jefferies was the influence for Gywnifred and Jens Jensen to go to Argentina - it seems the ranched there.

There is a picture of Mary Verena Palmer's son, Thomas Howard Barrington Palmer, on the Harrow school website - he was at Harrow at the same time as Winston Churchill.

Hi

2 things

Firstly, what was the starting point and info for this thread?
Implied via Personal Message?
If info is hidden in PMs then how can rootschatters be expected to help?
Lack of info is a def disadvantage as well as prompting duplication of effort.

Secondly, the 1901 census  . . . . .  "Gwenhlien Herkner  28 Servant"
RG13 / 1319 / Watford / ED 23 / page 8 / #50
? Gwenllian Harkness is Emmeline's sister ("S in law" to Thomas, as marked on the census) and not a servant
? Gwenllian Austin Neame born Jun 1873 (married Thomas R Harkness 1899)
? Emmeline Austin Neame born Mar 1872 (married T H B Palmer 1897)

Ray,

The poster wanted biographical information on some early female English lawn tennis players about whom he knew very little, sometimes not even the first name. So not sure where he could post on the rootchats.com website because the England forum is divided into many sections and he didn't know which county the players came from. There is no duplication of effort on this person on this site.
Since I have helped Newmark401 previously he asked if I could do a favour and see what I could find - rather than just post the info back by personal message I posted the info so that others could add other relevant material that may be found later.
Thanks for pointing out the error on Gwenhlien Herkner, will correct.
