British Army in India 19th century
« on: Friday 03 October 14 16:08 BST (UK) »
I enjoyed watching Billy Connolly finding out about his army ancestors in India last night and was particularly impressed with the very detailed hospital records which were found for him.  I have two ancestors who served in India and were hospitalised more than once, although 30 or 40 years earlier than the period covered in the programme - even so, it made me wonder if there might be records of their service held somewhere other than TNA which is the only place I've checked so far. Does anyone have any idea where I might start looking?  I don't have the resources to jet off to India but hopefully their archives take email enquiries!
