Simon Family of Burnley and Preston
« on: Thursday 06 January 11 14:58 GMT (UK) »
I know that my Great Great Aunt Margaret Emily Simon nee Lewis was living at 7 Elizabeth St, Preston in 1911, they had previously lived in Burnley and all 3 of her children were born there.
Both her Daughters married, Myfanwy to Frederick Spencer and had 3 sons and Helen to John Evans. she also had a son called Alfoncis, but I can't find any information about when he died or whether he married
Margaret died in 1931 aged 66.
I am sure that there must be some distant relatives left alive and I would love to contact them and share family information.

There are no Evans/Simon births in Lancashire on freebmd and I can't find any death for a Helen Louisa Evans

If John died - she may have re-married

Thats sounds like it could be her doesnt it? but you wouldn't have expected her to remarry at the age of 78....it's interesting that the marriage took place in Wales as her Mother was born there!

Hello! My name is Heather Spencer, daughter of Ramon Spencer who was the son of Frederik and Myfanwy Spencer (nee Simon and the sister of Alfred Simon who was killed at the Battle of Yvres on 26th Oct 1917)  - so I believer we may be related! I am researching Great Uncle Alfred and would love to connect with you to find out how we are related. Kindest regards Heather

I should add that Alfonse was Alfred - he is named in a church in Preston, and also on the Tyne Cot memorial. Myfanwy named her first son after him but Uncle Alfie died at 40 of a heart attack. The North Loyal Lancashire Regiment are going to post a photo of him on their site this week (I spoke to them yesterday 8th Nov).
