debs, thanks for the replies,my connection comes through the gambrills.my great grandfathers brother married martha webb, her sister elizabeth married jersey gambrill.my great grandfather is from a big family in whitstable, but they were mostly oyster dredgers and fisherman,i had no idea there were any romany connections there.ive been contacted by several people on Genes Reunited who have given me a lot of info on samsons family, his father,as you said, was john, his mother grace lee.johns parents were sampson and celia lee.sampsons father was john b1720,canterbury and mother was elizabeth norman b1720 canterbury.theyve also given me a lot of brothers and sisters from all generations, including more sampsons,a few marriages including more lees,a couple of boswells, wilsons, coopers etc.finding this out has made me wonder about my great grandmother, shes a complete mystery, will post a seperate thread on her tomorrow, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.once again debs, thanks for your help, nel.

Can any one help us trace Patience Scamp who we think married John Eastwood around 1906. We believe that Patience was the daughter of Sidney J Scamp and have found her in the 1911 census. Noah and Jack Eastwood are the children of Patience and John Eastwood however no records appear to exist? ???
