Daniel O'Connor
« on: Friday 22 August 14 23:30 BST (UK) »
Hi:

I'm looking for information about Daniel O'Connor, specifically to do with his military service in WW1.

I understand that he had  a photographers shop at 130 Fountainbridge in 1915. That his daughter, Kathleen died in Edinburgh on 29.5.17 and his son, George was born there on 18.10.17. On his daughters DC it states he was in the Royal Scots.

Are there any surviving Electoral Registers from the 1918 General Election?

Thanks

IanC

What year was he born and where?  Over 60% of WW1 service records were burnt during the WW2 blitz and there is no entry matching the regiment given

Have you found him on the 1911 census?

What year did he marry and where?  What was his wife's name

Hi Carole

Yeah, I know about the burnt records, and i had searched on Ancestry, just hoping someone might see something I missed or had access to some other records in the Edinburgh area.  He married in 1909 in Cork and was still there in 1911, his wife's name was Ellen.

Thanks for looking.

Regards
