For ease of searching Links

MILLER family
1901 Census Record
1911 Census Record
Noting that Edward is described as born in Dublin City
but the other children were born in Co. Dublin
could imply that the family moved after the birth of Bridget in 1907

O’MALLEY family
1901 Census Record
1911 Census Return
Investing a birth certificate will give Elizabeth’s surname and help the search
However this is a good possibility, it is a Civil Record Reference of an 1898 marriage
between Patrick O’MALLY and Elizabeth HUGHES in Rathdown district
and could be a good place to start.

Also this is a Civil Record Reference for Marriage of
Denis MILLAR to Mary Anne Doyle
note on another site states the record relates to another site

Marriage certificates will give father’s name and help place their ancestry

Possible birth and death for Mary Anne/Anna Mary MILLER here
The birth and death certificates for the family members will show where they were living and create a timeline if you have not already obtained them

editted to add
if you use www.familysearch.org and search for deaths in Rathdown
There are only a few matches for a Patrick O'Malley and Elizabeth O'Malley in the 1930s and 1940s
with a reasonable match of a birth date

if you search for deaths in Dublin South
There are only two matches for Denis Millar/Miller
with a reasonable match of a birth date

investing in these certs could also prove fruitful especially if you could establish where they are buried and find further records there

Further generations:

Thank you for your help.

I did find Elizabeth Hughes in the marriage records as a probable match

A few of the Miller children did unfortunately die young.

It looks like I am going to be ordering some records!

It is the best way to go and be sure from the start of your search
There is nothing worse than to find you are researching the wrong line for a family!

I suggest you note what is proven; add to it with certificates that proves more information and expand from there.

best of luck

That is brilliant that you were able to find Denis and Mary for me. I have done a quick search for York Street and it looks like it was tenement buildings?

How do you search the Electoral?

'Eyesonly' is my brother. I didn't realise he had been on here too until I read his post and thought I had found a long lost relative!

The way to search the Electoral Register is say you search for Denis Miller and up comes his name and 28 York St, you then go back to the search box and delete Denis but leave Miller and enter house number 28 and search which should give you all persons over 21 residing at that address by the name of Miller.
Dont know where you are located but you can follow up this address on the Electoral roll in Pearse St ,Library till circa 1964.

Cheers
