King family : King-Keogh connection
« on: Tuesday 24 August 10 10:09 BST (UK) »
Is anyone out there a descendant of Mathew Keogh baptised in Saint Andrew's parish in 1900 or of Kathleen Keogh baptised in the same parish in 1898? Their mother Anne (born King) is my great grandfather's (John King) sister.

My great great grandfather is to be found living in Liverpool in 1871. However his first name is given as Barnet. I find this hard to believe unless the recorder misheard or misunderstood his name. It might have been Bartle or Bernard. He was born in Ireland in 1838 and his brother James King was born in 1824. Would any one out there know the name of their father and possible brothers and sisters who may have had children and maybe emigrated to the states?

"Barnet" King was married to a woman called Ann born in 1836 if the info in 1871 census is correct. I do not know her maiden name so but she was born in Dublin.

Dublin : King, Burgess, Toole, Martin, Keogh
Wicklow : Toole, Burgess, , Mc Loughlin, Doyle,  Warren,
Armagh: Reynolds Vallely
Monoghan: Burgess
Keogh. Delgany : Doyle White and possibly McLoughlin
Carlow: Dillon, Delaney
Unknown county: Sweeney and Moran. Sweeneys went to Lpool 1840s and Michael Moran 1820s

My great grandfather was married to Nora Sweeney who was born in Liverpool in 1857. I cannot find any trace of her in the cenus of 1861 or 1871 carried out in England. Any one know her or her family?

Hello,

Can you let me know where the church is that you mentioned.  I am trying not to get too excited but all the names you have mentioned seem to fit into my family tree.  I am in the middle of it at the moment and Annie King/Keogh was my Great Granny, Matthew was my Grandad and Kathleen my Gran Aunt.

Hope this helps, if so I have plenty to share.

Ber

Thank you so much for all of that.  I was delighted to see the details and would like to share photos and stories with the person called Dillon. Are you also a member of the family tree?

Although I have a Keogh I don't believe there's a connection

I mainly wanted to let you know that dillonking had been offline for a while

The links were to help with your tree and I should have said Welcome!

Gosh! thank you for your help and the time you put into that.  I will post updates as the story has progressed over time and I have worked back to this stage.
