Thanks so much for that. It *looks* hopeful.
However, as I have no place of birth for them nor guarantee that my dates are right or wrong, I guess I cannot be sure it is my James.
I have Helen wilson b1835 and James Christieson b1830 on my tree. Tho this could be a guestimate by my mother-in-law.
The 1841 census puts Helen at the right year and her parents tally with other parents I saw today.
But the census James is shown to be 3 yrs younger than Helen and 8 yrs younger than my james.
I have as tentative parents for James a James Christison who married Marjery Bruce.
But this is definitely helpful and I shall look into this census info in more depth.
PS as a matter of interest, do you think young Isobel is a de facto wife?
thanks, alisan

Here's what I found using the IGI.
George Wilson m. 1832 Fordoun, Helen Bain, and had the following family:
James 1833 Fordoun
Helen  1835 Fordoun
Margaret 1836 Fordoun
Elizabeth 1839 Laurencekirk
John  1841 Laurencekirk
David  1842 Laurencekirk
Janet  1848 Laurencekirk
George  1851 Laurencekirk

Helen married James Christison at Laurencekirk in 1860, and they had:
James  1861 Lunan
John  1863 Lunan
David  1865 Lunan
Stewart  1867 Montrose
Andrew Bruce  1869 Lunan

A David Christison married Isobel Christie in 1799, Lochlee, Angus.  Their family all born at Lochlee:
John  1801
Lilly  1804
James  1806
Charles 1806 (died young?)
May 1808
David  1810
Charles 1812
Sarah 1815

Charles Christison (1812) married Isobel Paterson at Lochlee, Angus in 1838.  Banns 1837 Lumphanan, Aberdeen.  They went on to have:
James 1838 Lumphanan
John 1843 Benholm
Charles 1858 Marykirk
Hugh 1859 Brechin

James Christison married Marjory Bruce at Lunan in 1826 (Banns Montrose): Their family all born Montrose:

James 1829
Catherine 1834
Mary Ann 1836
Elizabeth 1839
John1842
David 1844
William 1847
Stewart 1849

It looks  in the 1841 Census as if Isobel Paterson was entered under her maiden name.

I am not sure these are mine:

A David Christison married Isobel Christie in 1799, Lochlee, Angus.
Charles Christison (1812) married Isobel Paterson at Lochlee, Angus in 1838.

But the others are.
I had Helen Bain as just Helen Ba* as the marriage certificate does not make it clear what the name is.
so that is an added bonus.
many thanks.

Hi
Getting back to the Munro Gove line. I have a Munro Gove in my tree somewhere. However I lost all my online stuff when my last computer crashed, but I still have all my paper notes. However I am actually going up to Gourdon at the weekend and I know where the family grave stone is. If you wish I can take some pics and email them to you?

I already have photos of some of the gravestones of the Gove line in Bervie cemetery, but thanks very much for the offer.

I would be very interested in your Gove line however, and if you ever get it back into your computer, i'd be most grateful for a copy.

The Munro Gove that I was enquiring about here was my Mum's eldest brother.  Their father was also Munro Gove, his wife was Bridget Watt.

This Munro Gove's father was an Andrew Gove, his wife was Martha Begg.

Does any of this tie in with your Goves?

My middle name is also Munro.
