Looking for Cochranes in Alloa
« on: Wednesday 15 August 12 12:44 BST (UK) »
Hi there
I'm trying to trace a John Cochrane and his wife Catherine Anderson. They had a son James born in Alloa in 1805 but I can find no trace of them in Alloa or Clackmannanshire on Scotland's People or anywhere else.  On their son's DC it said that his father John was an army officer but I've not found any trace of him in the Army either.

Appreciate any help at all!
Kirsty

Hi Ev
Yes, I've seen that and the names of his parents (John and Catherine) are also written in James' fasti ecclesiae scoticanae entry, which also says that James was born in Alloa.

I found James living in Edinburgh in 1841 with a 60 year old Margaret Cochrane, so it could be an aunt or something. Not much detail.
