Elizabeth Forrest of blantyre
« on: Saturday 23 August 14 16:56 BST (UK) »
Hi. Trying to find Elizabeth Forrest?, described as grand-daughter in the 1851 Census of Blantyre SP 624/00 004/00 005. Alexander Aikenhead, 48: Margaret ( nee Brownlee), 43 and their children Janet, 18; Margaret, 16; Robert, 13 and Elizabeth Forrest, 1month. Son James has left home.
Elizabeth first appears in the 1851 Census, as grand-daughter aged 1 month. In 1861 she is Margaret Forest aged  10, 'Cotton bleacher' - grand-daughter. She accompanies Margaret  A. in the 1871 Census, aged 20.
I think I have tried every permutation of names, but maybe this is more of the learning curve. Any help most appreciated. Thank you.
Aitkenhead, Purdon, Buick, Fairweather, Todd, Moresby.

Thanks Rosie. Margaret's death reported by her son, James.
SP marriages, yes, but not the one you mentioned.
30/04/1872  SMI 647/00 0047.  David Lees, 28, coal miner,  ???, Parish of Cambusnethan.
Margaret Forrest, 21, Factory weaver, Watsonville, Motherwell, Parish of Hamilton.
Grooms' parents, Alexander Lees, coal miner and Susan nee Gilmour.
Bride's parents, Alexander Forrest, Miller and Janet nee Aitkenhead.
I have not, as yet, been able to find Alexander and Janet's OPR or SMI, which is now very necessary. And, I cannot find Margaret A & Margaret Forrest 1851 Census.
Aitkenhead, Purdon, Buick, Fairweather, Todd, Moresby.

Hi. Further to my last post - Census 1851 - Margaret Aitkenhead. I found it easily on Ancestry, but no combination on SP, using the same data as Ancestry, would give me a result! I have contacted SP about whether there is an Index problem.
