James Anderson Soutar Rodger b. Dundee 23 May 1877
« on: Saturday 23 August 14 21:56 BST (UK) »
Hi

James Anderson Soutar Rodger, his wife Ethel Grace (m.s. Christie) and their son Robert sailed from Glasgow on 15 Jan 1941 on board the S.S. "Warwick Castle" (Canadian Pacific Line) to St John, New Brunswick, Canada - from 8 Belleview Crescent, Edinburgh. Their Country of Intended Residence shown as New Zealand on the attached manifest.

I've run out of ideas as to where to look next to find out if they ever did go to New Zealand - or did they stay in Canada?

Has anyone got any suggestions or information that will help me?

Regards

Thank you both for searching and for the replies. It answers the question  :)

Is there anything recorded for his wife, Ethel Grace m.s. Christie, born Perth, Scotland 10 Jul 1898? It would help complete that part of the family.

Couldn't see a New Zealand Probate for James

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1865481

Couldn't see these before the images were not clear but here they are now :-

The son and wife appeared up to 1981 on electoral rolls.  2/49 Apu Crescent - Customs Agent.  (Miramar Wellington)

RJC Rodger -  had a wife "A. A Rodger " listed with him in 1963/69/72/78 Heretauga Wellington - living at 2 Cole Grove Upper Hutt - occupation customs agent.

Thanks again Sandra ... I've been out in the garden clearing out some old stuff in preparation for the winter and so missed your reply!

Do you reckon "RJC" could be the son?  I know he was born here in Scotland so I'll look up his birth when I go to Edinburgh again in early October.  September is out as we're heading off to sunny Crete for three weeks in September 8)
