Hi , does anyone have access to wills and probate please , I would like to see what is on my ancestor who died in 1940 , reg Barnstaple  if possible please . It may lead to more family history info .

A lot of us have access to the indexes on the National Probate site.

Why don't you put his name here and someone will do a look up for you.

Thank you . Sarah Courtney Prout  of South Molton who was 79yrs old when died . Death reg in Barnstaple  March qtr  1940

Hi Alan.

Sarah Courtney Prout of 55 Cooks Cross South Moulton, Devonshire spinster died 7 February 1940.
Administration London 29 February to Elizabeth Prout spinster.  Effects £383 16s 5d.

If it is Administration, there is no Will, and will give very little, additional information.
