Hope you don't think i am being harsh on you - just didn't want you to get muddled -it is so easy to when you start
Brilliant you are doing this in your teens - that was when I started - very many years ago!!!!!

You will find RootsChatters very friendly and helpful

I would sort your posts out into some kind of order
A few tips
don't put mother's maiden name as a middle name unless you have proof (baptism or census etc) that that was included
You could go to your topic heading and modify to remove the Groves

you can then put in your post the parents names if you know them

If you start a new post on Elizabeth Ann Groves -use that as the title then post what you know about Elizabeth Ann - e.g. y.o.b. (year of birth) approx - p.o.b. (place of birth)
married to Joseph Sealey
Then you could  post that you have topics on Joseph Sealey and post the link to them

It is a good idea to work from  the marriage and go backwards through the census  at first
If you get muddled just post where should I go next?

No no you're very helpful!
Sorry I'm just new to this :) Yes I am very interested about ancestry :)
Sadly I don't know much on my own...my father knows very little about his side of the family although my mum knows more.

Thank you again for helping me !

Tabitha

Hi, some basic info. Joseph (G) Sealey was born 5.1.1890-1971. His parents as you know were Joseph Sealey c1862 and Elizabeth Ann Groves. Joseph names his father at marriage in 1889 as Joseph Sealey occupation whitesmith. This Joseph Sealey 17.6.1836-1881. His wife was Sophia Ann Mumford c1835-1891. They married 15.8.1858 in Bethnal Green. In turn his father was Henry Sealey 1799- 1887.

I can see why you may have thought Joseph 1890 had the middle name Groves as when he married Lucy Leech in 1912 he marries as Joseph "G" Sealey.
I can find no evidence of brother called Alfred though.

John

Thanks,

Tabitha

Tabitha, looking at Ancestry it appears he was born and baptised as Thomas Henry Sealey, born 4th January 1799 and baptised 30th January 1799. This was in Edmonton. Only his mother is named so he was probably base born. Also the 1881 census does appear to record his name as HENRY "T" Sealey

Hi Tabitha

If you're going to start asking for information on other people, it's better to start a new topic but copy and paste the URL at the top of the screen from the previous topics into the new one so people can refer back and not duplicate what you already know.

What offen happens is that people look down the list of topics on the forums and see that some have 10, 15, 20 or more replies and think that everything is taken care of and move on to a different topic with fewer replies and ignore yours.

Does it say who Henry's mother was?
