Jim
you may be out of luck 70% of ww1 records were destroyed in Blitz.
There maybe MGC records with their association. The MIC indicates he went overseas post Jan 1916 and at sometime during that he was transferred to Labour Corps.
You MAY be able to get info from the Great War Forum website on his LC number....Ivor Lee is an authority on the Labour Corps and is on there.
He wasn't discharged due to wounds as there is no mention of Silver War Badge or Discharge on the card

My Grandad was in MGC WW1, [No. 8855, James Charles]. I am trying to find details of his service, I know he was wounded and moved to the Labour Corps, [No. 615883,] I have his medal card, which shows Victory and British Medals yet no stars, and I know he was in from 1914 and Discharged 1919.

The Machine Gun Corps was founded in late 1915, so your grandfather's service prior to the MGC would have been with another corps or regiment.  If he was not awarded the 1914 or 1914-15 Star it suggests that he was not serving in a theatre of war before 1916.  It seems unlikely that he would have been based in Britain for over a year but without knowing his previous corps or regiment I can't say which of the many outposts of the Empire he may have served in.

All the best
Philip

Where can I go to find details on his wounds, and service in MGC

Casualty lists were produced, but these just contained the lists of men killed or wounded, not the actual damage done to them. Battle History Sheets were also done, sometimes indepth, into the units movements during an engagement.

A lot of information is lost due to the blitz, and general carelessness.

In the chance in a few thousand you may get lucky, heres a couple of picks of the MGC. (although the second pic is more than likely the motorised machine gun corp)

Hi, 2 very nice photo's lostintimeandpace.

Jim, (birtleylad) welcome to Rootschat, there is a very good Facebook group ran by the machine gun corps /OCA, if you put a search in for them you should find them, you just request permission to join the group and the lady who runs it will accept your request.
They have a lot of knowledgeable people on there who are nearly all descendants of MGC soldiers.

Good luck with your research.
