Maternity home in Dorchester WW2
« on: Saturday 24 April 10 09:09 BST (UK) »
I am enquiring as to whether anybody knows anything about a maternity/mother and baby home in Dorchester during the early war years?  A large house/mansion possibly for evacuees or unmarried mothers?

Many thanks

Casalguidi :)

Hello,
I am also trying to find out if there was a Maternity Home or House for unmarried mothers in Dorchester during the War years. I was thinking it may have been in Damers Road. Have you managed to find anything out yet?
Kind Regards,
Donna

Hi,

I think Damers Road is in Dorchester, Dorset and not Dorchester -on-Thames, Oxfordshire.
