I have 1815 birth date for john Robinson but could be wrong. Yours sounds about right and it ties in with the name Bason...I'm now thinking maybe Susan Bason was his mother in law

Susan Bason is buried at Sharnford 8 Jul 1851 age 86, there's a son William bap 1 Apr 1804 to John Bason and Susan. While I can find baptisms, a lot with maiden names, I cannot link find any marriages for 1770's to 1820's Leicestershire.

The Bott/Robinson marriage is a register office, no details for a church, have you thought about ordering this one?

Looked at IGI, here's a marriage for John Bason and Susannah ROBERSON 2 Aug 1799

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NVY7-X2G

Bulkington, Warks, not far away

Have a look here

https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Ajohn~%20%2Bsurname%3Abason~%20%2Bspouse_givenname%3Asusan~

scroll down a bit and start looking at Susannah and you will find some baptisms in Bulkington, then 1804 William Saint Helen, Sharnford, at least you can order these from IGI if it looks promising.

Just found them also on A**, there' a William bap there 1809, marriage is there too in case you have a sub.

Not sure if i am helping here or confusing you even more

I have just found a marriage that stopped me in my tracks

William Bott to Maria Turner 21 Aug 1837 Bagworth
Father's James Bott Labourer
John Turner FWK
Witnessed by Joseph Kellem and John Bonser
Both were minors when they married

There is a Maria Turner baptised 3 Apr 1818 to John and Ann father a labourer

If William Bott and maria married in1837 I should be able to find them in the 1841 census, but I can't. ??? Unless by 1841 William had died

I've found that Father in law on census returns often means stepfather.  They had by law ( marrying the mother) taken on the responsibility of the children.
I know it often confused me until I realised what was happening.
Hope this is of some help.
