WILLIAMS family of Blaenau.
« on: Friday 04 March 11 22:45 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on David Griffith Williams he was born in 1837 in Dolyddelen he was married to Mary Williams born about 1835.  They lived in Blaenau Ffestiniog at Tanymarion, Church Street. I do not know what Marys surname was before she married.  Their son Griffith David Williams was my Grandfather and he lived in Chester.

If I have the correct family- David and Mary were b Caernarvonshire - but lived merionethshire and had children there???

Is this the family??

1861
festiniog Merioneth
David Williams Head M 24 Slate Quary man Dolwyddelan Caernarvonshire
Mary wife M 27                                                     do
Anne daughter 1 Festiiniog Merionethshire
David Richard Lodger U 21 Tal y Clyn? Merionethshire
Robert Williams Lodger U 20 Dolwyddelan Caernarvonshire
Rg9 4324 66 17

so it seems by 1861 they had been married for (possibly) a couple of years

There is this marriage reg FreeBMD (the only one which I can see as a "fit")

Mar qtr 1855
Llanrwst district( Dolwyddelan comes with this district)
David G Williams
Mary Jones

With Williams (and possibly Jones) in Wales you really need certificates to be certain

Your Grandfather's birth cert would be a good start -and then a marriage cert)
