DORSETT Jane, Wells Somerset
« on: Wednesday 10 September 14 11:22 BST (UK) »
Jane Dorsett married Thomas Long in 1703 in Wells, Somerset. They had a son, John Dorsett Long in 1704. I would love to find out more about their history, especially Jane. Is going back that far asking too much?

Excellent. Thanks so much. I have most of my information from Ancestry.com.au
I am tracing my Mum's father's family, surname Fuller. Many in his family (including Mum) have Dorset as a middle name. We always assumed it was because the family came from Dorset, however my research shows they were mostly centred around Wells and the Dorset has come through from Jane Dorsett. Now I guess I would like to try and find out if the name Dorsett really has anything at all to do with the county Dorset.
I have established that John Henry and Elizabeth (nee Shuttleworth Bell) Fuller came to Australia in 1869.(sorry i'm probably rambling now).
John Henry had a son, John Henry Long Fuller from his first marriage to Elizabeth Ryan. He didn't travel to Australia with them so I'd like to find out what happened to him too. I think I had best start a new post for him.
