Felix McElroy 1841-1879

I'm looking for any information on the parents of a Felix McElroy who I believe was from Moneymore in Co. Derry.

All the information on him is based on Scottish records after he emigrated to Glasgow sometime around 1871. However, the records that would normally supply his parents names list them as unknown.

His birth date is estimated to be around 1841, and the birth record of his daughter Margaret McIlroy states that he married his wife Elizabeth McMahon on February 10, 1862 in Moneymore.

His children are Matilda born 1865 in Moneymore, Bernard born 1868 in Magherafelt, Patrick born 1870 in Moneymore, Andrew born 1871 in Glasgow and Margaret born 1875 in Glasgow.

Matilda McElroy is a common name in the Moneymore area during the 1860s/1870s which leads me to believe that they are related and 'Matilda' is a family name.

I have found one Matilda Mary McElroy born 1868 in Moneymore, her parents are William McElroy and Margaret Strawbridge. The marriage record for William and Margaret states that William's father was also called William.

Are William McElroy and Felix brothers? It's a possibility.

Edited to add: GRONI online corroborates these dates of birth and mother's maiden surname, all births registered at Magherafelt.

Felix and wife Elizabeth married on 12 February 1862 in Moneymore RC Church, two different sources I've seen mistranscribe his surname as McIvory.
