James Lacey/Lacy Cappagh
« on: Friday 14 June 13 10:13 BST (UK) »
Hello, I wonder if anyone knows anything of my grandfather James Lacey or Lacy b.1867 to 1868.

I have found him on the 1911 census as LACEY in Cappagh aged 43.
The Arklow baptismal records show his children's names as LACY.
As he could not read/write there would be discrepancies.
I have not found a record of him in 1901 census.
He married Elizabeth Manifold in Arklow 1897
Elizabeth's death cert 1920, says her husband an ex-soldier.
Photo of his headstone says he died 1950 in Gorey Co.Wexford, aged 84

Any information would be very much appreciated, Tom

i presume this is your gran Elizabeth Manifold born 23 may 1871in Arklow dtr of William Manifold and Anne Hayes, they in turn were married on 17th june 1865 in Arklow  ,Williams father Matthew and Annes Thomas Hayes. on another index for Wicklow i found that the three men were fishermen so i thought these books might interest you .''The Fishery of Arklow 1800/1950.''
