George Cox, b Stafford 1853:
1881 census(Stafford) bootfinisher
1891 census (Stafford) shoemaker
1901 census (Stafford) shoe finisher

Later in life George worked for H J Dain (part of the Ks Shoes group) in Wolverhampton making ladies' shoes

In the 1881 Census there are;
49,565 Shoemakers
16,730 Bootmakers
10,053 Saddlers
6,532 Harness Makers.
