Philip JEAN
« on: Wednesday 18 June 14 22:35 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Seeking the birth of a Philip JEAN ca 1853, and wondering if he is the Philip Francis JEAN, born at St-Helier on 26 Jan 1854?

If so, he would have been the son of Philippe JEAN and Jane LeBRETON.  Is there a marriage for this couple which would include the names of their parents?  Thanks in advance,

Dennis

Hello,

The Philip JEAN I am researching was born in Jersey and married in Canada in 1886 to an Addie BURKE.  He died in December 1895.  So I guess I am looking for the one who does not appear in the 1881 census of Jersey, since he was already living in Canada and in that census; he is recorded there as 24 years old. The 1891 census gives his age as 38 years old, adding another four years to his age. There is no age in his death record, which is why I am not quite sure which Philip it could be.

So eliminating one of these two from the 1881 census of Jersey seems to be the solution to the problem.  Would you have the answer to that question?  If so, my sincere thanks.

Thanks, Carol.

So it seems I am on the right track after all.  Would anyone then have a marriage record for Philip JEAN and Jane LEBRETON circa 1851?  Thanks in advance,

Dennis
