however he apparently married davina robertson who was born around 1880's forfarshire

Are you saying that it is an assumption that Barbara's father was William Cruickshank Watt?  Have you viewed Barbara's birth cert on Scotlands People to confirm that info. 
Your reply also suggests some uncertainty that he married Davina Robertson - there is no Robertson/Watt marriage on SP

Do you have a copy of Barbara's 1938 marriage cert?  If so - does it confirm that her parents were William and Davina?

i have no idea where barbra was born sorry ...it is  an assumption that William is her father and davina her mother... ime purely following possible leads...attached to henry kemp mcdonald

You need to confirm your information by obtaining a copy of the 1938 marriage cert which will give you the following information:

Her age
Her parents names
Fathers occupation
Mothers maiden name

When you have confirmed her parentage - you can then check for a marriage for her parents which will give their parents names etc

thanks for your reply s.... i was looking in the wrong place for info relating to william and davina.. however now found and solved what i assumed to be a bit of a mystery.....
