Isaac Northam
« on: Wednesday 03 September 14 13:41 BST (UK) »
Any help appreciated. I am trying to find out what happened to Isaac northam b. 1848in Churchill in Somerset. He was the son of Isaac northam b 1818 in Stockland Devon and anne carter. He is in the 1861 census living with his parents. In 1871 he is listed as a servant living in Dorset. I cannot find out anything after that
Many thanks Heather

On the 1851 and 1861 censuses, Isaac (jnr) gives his place of birth as Axminster, Devon.
Only on the 1871 does the census mention Churchill?

In light of his father's occupation as a journeyman miller, is this Isaac in 1891?

The Isaac Northam listed on the 1891 census married to Sarah Jane is the father of the Isaac I am looking for. He was born in 1818 in Stockland and Sarah Jane was his second wife.  The census appears to have been transcribed wrongly. In 1871 the Isaac I am looking for is living with a Samuel Marden b. 1845  who is a miller. Isaac appears to be following in his fathers footsteps regarding occupation as he is listed as millers servant.
Cheers Heather
